A digital alarm clock with a clear display that can be easily seen
With the reopening of schools and offices, many people may need a more rigorous morning routine and those 20 or 30 minutes that are wonderfully lost to snoozing can become problematic. To add insult to injury, the sleep you manage to get between snooze alarms is not doing you much good.
While you usually wake up in a state of REM sleep, your alarm clock may go off in a deeper sleep cycle. The resulting drowsiness may be one of the reasons why you particularly want to doze off.
You may think that the louder and more unpleasant the alarm is, the more effective it will be in waking you up. In fact, it may have the opposite effect. Instead, try soothing sounds (birdsong, bells, a favourite song) that gradually increase in volume and peak at your scheduled wake-up time.
For a more organised time and a regular sleep schedule, it is highly recommended to buy the digital clock with remote control, which allows you to set 12 alarms with a note message and also features automatic night dimming without disturbing your sleep.
If you get a good night's sleep all the time, you may not even need an alarm clock - assuming you go to bed early enough, you will wake up spontaneously when you want to. Unfortunately, few people are able or willing to set aside a full seven to eight hours each night for a steady sleep, let alone turn off electronic devices, avoid alcohol and coffee before bed, or skip other sleep-inhibiting substances and activities.
