Suitable for people who frequent smoky places

Choosing the right face mask for painting is key when dealing with home, garden and DIY projects, as they always involve exposure to harmful chemicals and toxins. These chemicals and toxins are paint fumes, solvents, dust and adhesives, which can cause serious breathing problems and even lung cancer. If you work in these conditions, then you must know which Respirator or dust mask you must wear in order to filter out the hazards they are aimed at.

You must always remember that mask for painting and dust masks are different from each other and that they both must be used in different environments and work situations. While Respirators require different filters and cartridges as they provide protection against harmful gases, vapours and fumes, at the same time dust masks are only designed for tasks such as dust removal and fire and smoke protection and do not include any chemical gases or dust particles.

Before starting any project you must know if the environment contains particulate hazards (e.g. particles such as hazardous dust or fibres), gas or vapour hazards (e.g. solvent vapour or chlorine gas), or both.

Always check the state of the environment in which you will be using the Respirator mask with filters. Respirators are equipped with different filters and chemical cartridges which have different purposes. Some filters protect against organic vapours, fumes, smoke and chemicals, while others are used to protect against solid and liquid particles present in the air. Each particulate filter has a different rating which is provided by NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health).

Dust masks cover most woodworking dusts, allergens and airborne diseases. When selecting a dust mask, always choose one that provides proper seal protection around the face without any leakage.

These cartridges are replaceable and you can replace them after a few hours of use. Cartridge Respirators can be either a half mask (covering only your nose and mouth) or a full mask (for protection against skin irritating chemicals).

The paint Respirator safety tips
Watch out for odours: If you notice an odour or taste after wearing the Respirator, the filter must be replaced. If it is new, then you must check for leaks and wear it correctly.
Keep it dry: Store the filter and Respirator in a dry place, as many filters and disposable masks will fail if they get wet.
Follow the instructions: Always follow the instructions before putting on the mask. You must always check for leaks before starting work.
Do not re-use: Disposable Respirators should not be used more than once. Replace the filter if you use the Respirator and have difficulty breathing after 40 hours of use or through them.
Discard if broken: Never use a broken filter, canister or Respirator as they may not work effectively. If any part of the Respirator is damaged, buy a new one.
