A training pad with excellent water absorption and air permeability
Everything about these little breeds seems easy to handle before you go potty training. They are notorious for being difficult to burgle. I know from experience that this can be a very frustrating and costly inconvenience.
I have tried various methods to train our teacup Chihuahua, but nothing seems to work. You might think that one day she'll be able to hold out until you're out there and you're making progress. You praise them and shower them with love because you feel so relieved.
But to develop and train a dog's habits for the long term, a washable pee pads for dogs is essential.
Due to the size of small breeds, they can be disoriented by spatial awareness. They can run from an area of the house a few feet away and think they are operating in the "outside" area. And because we often pick them up and move them ourselves, they may be confused in understanding "forbidden" space from "go" space.
Most small dogs don't like to go out in the rain or snow. They also don't enjoy the cold weather as much as some other breeds. Just because we dressed them in a cute raincoat and matching ankle boots, they still didn't feel the urge to frolic in the rain. It is best to have a reusable pee pads for dogs and finish their business.
Acceptance is the first step. Blaming yourself or the dog is not helpful. Finding a manageable way to live together is the best solution. Accept that they have this limitation and arrange a way for them to quickly identify the space they can enter as their toilet.
Here's how:
Place this pee pads for dogs in your chosen dog toilet area or in an area where accidents occur frequently. First thing in the morning, after they eat, last thing before they go to bed, and any other time you notice they need to go according to their habits.
Praise them and give them encouragement after they complete their business. Keep repeating this and they will soon learn that, at least from my experience, 75% of the time, they remember.
If you know they get excited when they think they're going for a walk and walk past the door, keep the dog pee pads in the area.
As much as we want our furry babies to be adequately home trained, when they are not, we should handle the situation with love and acceptance.
Just as dogs are man's best friend, we humans are dog's best friend. As with good friends, having a lot of patience in customizing training related to their body shape and habits can go a long way toward building a wonderful and long-lasting relationship.
